With a calm heart and mind, I fade into the tank.
Like the tide, I hear the rhythmic whooshing of my circulatory system as I feel my body disappear into the water.
Sifting through an indigo haze of darkness I begin following a fuzzy pinhole of light floating in and out of focus. Then joined by the other flickering embers of a turquoise fire within a prism. The lines of the prism fragment and continue to grow, as if the flames within demanded a chaotic display of geometry.
A kaleidoscope blooms from the blue fire and rises and falls with each breath.
Slowly I begin to feel my body bringing me back to reality.
This float was better than sleep, reminding me; rest can be more important than sleep.
